There are many threats and risks when using an it based communication system.
These risks and threats include the following:
- cyber bullying
- spam
- uploading/using digital content
- privacy of information
Cyber Bullying- The threat of cyber bullying whilst using IT Based communication systems are that people are getting bullied online and the risk is that the people who are the victim they could use as evidence and take it to the police and take things further.
Spam - You could get an email saying that you have to owe money or just won something, and they may make you provide some details e.g card details. This is a threat because it is a spam and you have given out personal details and they can take money off you from your bank.
Uploading/using digital content - This is a risk whilst using an It based communication system is when you upload a picture, people could view it and save this photo and they could go further with this photo e.g sell it. This is why social networking sites have privacy settings to lower the amount of bad things happening.
Privacy of information - This is a threat because if you put private information on the website people can view it and they can find more things about about you. They could find out things like where you live, mobile numbers and maybe look for you on social networking sites to find more information about you.
